We are happy to host the Second International Workshop on Kansei again in Fukuoka, Japan.This workshop focuses on "Kansei", the perceptual and cognitive abilities to intuitively/deductively feel, comprehend, and appreciate the appearance of an object, scene, and consequently, the world around us. In dealing with this topic, our aim is to bring together scientists from various fields of research (Psychology, the Arts, Physiology, Neuroscience, Linguistics, Musicology, Architectonics, Information Science, and so on).

Submission of a short abstract
At first, participants are required to submit the following information via e-mail to kansei@psycho.hes.kyushu-u.ac.jp :

  • Presentation title
  • Name(s) and affiliation(s)
  • A short abstract less than 300 words
  • Contact information
  • Preference for presentation style (spoken or poster presentation)
Based on peer-review results, we will invite accepted presenters to write an extended abstract for the Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Kansei

Information for presenters

Poster presentation
Presenters are allowed to use a 90 (width) x 180 (height) cm board to put their posters on.

Spoken presentation
Presenters are allowed to use their own computers (Windows/Macintosh) and a LCD projector for the presentation. We will also prepare the computers for the presenters who can not bring their computer to the workshop.

Banquet
We will have a banquet on March 7, 2008.

Fees for participations
4000 JPY for presentation
2000 JPY for purchasing Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Kansei
4000 JPY for banquet
